Om 3 uur vanmiddag ofzo stappen we in de taxi naar het vliegveld hier, dan op het vliegtuig richting Auckland, dan 5 uur wachten, dan het vliegtuig naar LA, vanaf daar vliegen naar Londen, dan van Londen naar Schiphol en dan 3 uur met de trein naar Groningen. En dan storten we in. Dus we hebben nog wat tijd om te nietsnutten, dat wil zeggen het is nu 12 uur en we zitten in het park dit in te tikken. *snif* einde vakantie bijna. Het was ronduit fantastisch. Nieuw Zeeland is een absolute aanrader als vakantiebestemming. Het is in Nederland rotweer als het hier zomer is (het is in Nederland bijna altijd rotweer), het land heeft zo'n beetje alles op afreisbare afstanden te bieden en de mensen zijn aangenaam en vriendelijk plus je kunt ze nog verstaan ook (aangenomen dat je het engels beheerst). Misschien hebben sommige van jullie je afgevraagd waarom we zelf niet zo vreselijk vaak in de plaatjes te vinden zijn. Dat heeft te maken met het feit dat dit digitale cameraatje toch anders werkt dan een 'normale' camera. De belichting is nogal moeilijk en wanneer we zelf op de foto zouden staan is er domweg niet genoeg ruimte over voor de natuur die we willen laten zien. Er passen tenslotte maar 640x480 puntjes op een plaatje. Zoals gezegd, gezien de gevoeligheid qua belichting zijn ook niet alle plaatjes gelukt dan wel van de kwaliteit die we hadden willen zien. We hopen desalniettemin dat jullie een beetje een indruk hebben gekregen van het een en ander. Wanneer we de door ons gemaakte foto's klaar hebben zullen we deze ook gaan verwerken tot een meer gedetailleerd en kwalitatief veel beter online verslag. Voor de laatste keer groeten vanuit het reisverslag en tot ziens als we weer terug zijn in het koude platte Nederlandje aan de andere kant van de wereld.
At 3 PM (or around that time) today we'll take a cab to the airport here. From there we'll embark the plane to Auckland. Five hours waiting will see us on the plane to LA, then to London and finally to Schiphol, Amsterdam. Then, we're not there YET, Trains, Planes and Automobiles, we'll have to take the train to Groningen. Three hours. Then it's time to collapse. It's noon when we're writing this so we have some time to browse and linger around the city. Maybe some of you wondered about the pictures we put on these pages. For one thing, if you thought why we're nog that much in the pictures ourselves... this is because a) it would take up too much space (no we're not THAT fat :-). The camere has a resolution of only 640x480 pixels. b) the correct exposure and colors would be even more difficult then it already was. Furthermore, while we're on the subject of the quality, we threw away a lot of pictures and many of them aren't exactly like we wanted them to be. But we do hope we could get at least a bit of an impression of our journey across. When we've developped the pictures we made with our conventional cameras we'll make a more detailed site our of it and on top of that of far better of quality. *snif* our journey is almost finished. It was great, fantastic, superb, etc, etc. New Zealand is certainly very worthwhile visiting. For us, it's winter and absolutely crappy weather in the Netherlands when we left for New Zealand to arrive in summer (then again, it's always crappy weather in the Netherlands :-) This country has it all and at distances that won't make you sit in the car all day between destinations. On top of that the people are pleasant and you can even understand them :-) Well, thats it from us for the last time. See you around when we're back at the other side of the world.
